Frequently asked questions

Welcome to jubilee church wirral!

Jubilee Church Wirral is a lively, family-friendly and evangelical church in Wallasey in the heart of Wirral.

We meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am at the Jubilee Centre, our home in Hose Side Road, and also hold Life Groups during the week.

At Jubilee, we’re passionate about following Jesus and helping God to change lives all over the Wirral by playing an active role in the community with lunch clubs, lockdown support groups and regular outreach activities. Whatever your age, background or nationality, you are guaranteed a warm, loving welcome at Jubilee.

On this page we answer some of the frequently asked questions about our church. If there are any we haven't answered, please let us know at info@jubileechurchwirral.org.uk

Where is the church?
The Jubilee Centre is at 12 Hose Side Rd, New Brighton, Wallasey CH45 0LA.

What time does it all start?
Our Sunday morning meetings start at 10.30am. At present we are asking people to book in advance due to government guidelines and arrive by 10.15am. Our meetings currently end at approximately 11.30am.

Can I park easily?
Yes. There is lots of parking on Hose Side Road and in other roads surrounding the Jubilee Centre.

Do I need to bring a face mask?
We do ask that face masks be worn during meetings but we do have disposable masks available at the entrance. We also ask that visitors use the hand sanitiser provided.

Are toilets available during the meeting?
Yes. We have a one-way system in place for our toilets, and accessible toilets for those in wheelchairs.

Can I get to the church by public transport?
Yes. If you’re travelling by bus, Arriva’s 414 service runs regularly and stops at the end of Hose Side Road, just a few minutes' walk away. For more information visit www.merseytravel.gov.uk/
Alternatively, New Brighton and Wallasey Grove Road railway stations are both approximately 15 minutes away by foot. For information about train times, visit www.merseyrail.org/

Is there any kind of dress code?
No, not at all! We recommend that you wear the clothes you feel most comfortable in.

I’ve never been to church before. What should I do when I arrive?
We have a welcoming team who will welcome you to Jubilee and do their best to ensure you have as enjoyable a time as possible.
We would normally advise people to sit wherever they want – we don’t have special seats for visitors or any reserved areas – but at present, unfortunately, we are having to allocate seats to ensure we stick to social distancing guidelines.

I have children, can I bring them?
Absolutely, please do! We have four junior groups – Sparks for ages 0-4, Flames for school years 1-6, Firestarters for school years 7-9 and Trailblazers for school years 10-13. There's more information about all our youth and junior groups here.

At present, because of government guidelines, we are unable to offer a creche service for our Sparks age youngsters or hold all our groups each week. As a result, we are alternating Flames and a joint Firestarters/Trailblazers meeting during our meetings each week. For more information, visit our Jubilee during lockdown page.

Do I need to bring any money?
No, absolutely not! All refreshments are free of charge. There is an opportunity to give to Jubilee Church Wirral but please do not feel under any obligation whatsoever to give.

Do I need to bring a Bible?
No. Please feel free to bring one if you wish, but there is absolutely no need to bring a Bible.

Do you sing hymns from hymn books?
No we don’t. We do have a time of worship at the start of the meeting when we sing modern worship songs but all the words are displayed on a screen above the band.

Is there any tea or coffee available?
During lockdown we are unable to provide any refreshments. In normal times, we provide tea and coffee and often biscuits too!

Is there wheelchair access to the building?
Yes.

I have another question.
