In Romans 14 the Apostle Paul tells us to accept our brothers that are weak. Eating or not eating meat or observing special festive days do not make us more spiritual than other brothers. Michael uses this powerful passage to bring home that the Kingdom of God is not in eating or drinking but in Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
As we celebrate International Day at Jubilee Church Wirral, Dave speaks about Abraham, the Father of Nations, who had to believe in God even when he could not see the promise. He walked in faith and trust in what God said and he was called the Friend of God and Father of Many Nations.
Ephesians is such a rich vein of truth that just keeps producing faith and encouragement. Jonathan so encouraged us on Sunday to see the good news is all the better for really knowing what the bad news is. Paul reminds the Ephesians that they were dead spiritual in their sins BUT that God had made them alive in Christ – ground shaking truth.
