Encounters with God
As humans we possess 5 senses; sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch. Of all the senses, the touch places us in direct contact and intimate connection with our world. If we as humans can significantly influence our world through touch how much more “the touch of God”? In this message Michael speaks about what, when and the result of the touch of God using 7 different examples from the Bible.
Matthew leads us through this passage as a condemned Joshua finds himself having an amazing encounter with God’s grace. We learn how and why this grace extends to us, as well as how we can learn to live in the permanence of our new standing before God.
Dave continues our series on Encounters with God, looking at the life of Jacob (the deceiver). It’s amazing how long we can go on striving to win the approval of God and of people. But like Jacob learns we find freedom in embracing our true identity of those who belong to, and are chosen by God.
Sometimes we are satisfied with less than the fullness of what God has for us. Today as we dive into another Encounter with God we see that believing the unfailing promise Maker allows us to step into the impossible. Dave shows us how living with full faith in God’s promise, draws us into the things of heaven, and the full life God has always wanted us to have.
Matthew walks with us through John 4 as we see Jesus share the good news of salvation with the Samaritans. We see that through Jesus, the excluded are now included! We also see how we obtain “living waters” that quench every thirst and how to keep drinking each and every day.
Are you a faith champion like Elijah – passionate for God but then confronted with the challenges of life? Familiarity as they say breeds contempt, however believers need to guard against performance and rather serve God in truth and in Spirit. Michael explores the riches of the text in 1 Kings 19:1-18 and unfolds some daily practical applications relevant to our Christian walk.
Are we ready to turn aside and look to see what God is doing and saying around us every day? Or are we all too quick to put ‘God moments’ off till they are convenient? God is inviting us into an adventure what requires one thing only – obedience. God’s desire is for us, and loves our heart response of ‘here I am – send me today’….
